Star Denies Anti-Vaxxer Position Following Lending His Voice To Contentious Covid Film
The acclaimed actor has provided his vocal talents to a recent film that questions the safety of immunizations and lauds ex- health official RFK Jr.
The Feature's Disputed Origins
Called "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is adapted from a well-known publication published by Judy Mikovits, who rose to infamy during the health crisis for allegations that the virus was linked to a bad strain of the influenza shot.
Her writing partner, the executive producer, has also written books with controversial media personality a known commentator. He recently posted hailing Neeson's involvement in the project.
A Strong Statement
The team of Liam Neeson have provided a comment pushing back against suggestions that he holds anti-vaccine views.
"Many recognize that misconduct might be present within the medical sector, but that cannot be conflated with rejection of vaccines," the comment explains. "Neeson has never been, and remains not, anti-vax. His long work with Unicef reinforces his enduring support for global immunisation initiatives."
The statement added that the star did not shape the project's messaging and that inquiries about its assertions are best addressed to the filmmakers.
Central Themes Featured in the Feature
According to the documentary, the script provided by Neeson features several provocative points:
- It claims that pro-immunization voices have demanded "complete compliance" to public institutions.
- It posits that "science has become highly influenced by politics."
- RFK Jr is featured stating, "The big problem with vaccines is that they are not safely tested."
- The film further attacks Covid lockdowns, arguing they caused mental anguish that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
- Regarding the immunizations, it references a perspective that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Past Controversy and Recent Disputes
The film further cites a past television report about HIV drug testing on children, which was subsequently the focus of a correction by the corporation for unbalanced reporting.
In recent weeks, the political figure called on the Centers for Disease Control to revise its long-held position that there is no link between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is echoed in the film, contrary to a new report from the WHO confirming no connection has been found.
A Past Position of Support
Standing in contrast to the film's tone, Neeson has previously expressed strong support for vaccines in his position as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
In 2022, he referred to vaccines as "an extraordinary human success story," adding that "The debate about vaccines in the past few years has overlooked how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in our history."
The documentary concludes with Neeson's narration saying, "This marks not the finish of our journey. Rather, it is the dawn of a different phase."
