President Trump Invites Families of Shot Military Personnel to the Presidential Residence
President Donald Trump stated on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a Guard member killed last week to attend the executive mansion.
He added that he contacted her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a shooting on Wednesday in Washington DC.
Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The president said he’s proposed a White House visit for the parents of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.
“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” the president told the press. “And likewise with Andrew, recover or not.”

Beckstrom, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County high school in 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a military police officer with honor, per the West Virginia National Guard.
“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had fortitude,” Morrisey informed the audience at the vigil. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
