An individual of Australian nationality who jumped past a barrier and touched actress Ariana Grande has been expelled and prohibited from Singapore.

Johnson Wen, aged 26, was sentenced to nine days in jail for being a public nuisance and has now been "barred from re-entering Singapore," Singaporean immigration authorities informed local media.

He forced his way past photographers and rushed toward the celebrity, who was present at the Asian premier for the musical adaptation on 13 November. Co-performer Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

Wen has a history of disrupting concerts and celebrity events, including leaping onto the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in this summer.

The event caused anger in Singapore, with several individuals claiming he of re-traumatising Grande.

The celebrity has spoken of experiencing PTSD after a explosive incident at her concert in Manchester in spring of 2017 resulted in the deaths of 22 individuals and hurt numerous attendees.

Throughout the court proceedings, the authorities learned he had made efforts to breach on the film's premiere on two occasions, according to regional reports.

He then made a follow-up try to breach security. Protection personnel intercepted him and held him in place.

Wen later posted recordings thanking Grande for letting him on the carpet and said he was "released."

Authorities arrested him the next day and brought charges against him with disorderly conduct, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The Court Judge Christopher Goh was cited by Channel News Asia as remarking that he was looking for publicity, noting that he was incorrect to assume he would not suffer any consequences.

The singer has not commented on the incident.

Cynthia Erivo mentioned the event to a media outlet, remarking that she "only aimed to verify my co-star was protected."

"I believe he didn't mean us harm, but you never know with such situations, and I wanted to confirm that she was OK. That was my first instinct," she stated.
