Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

The comedian

Acclaimed young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was made after an investigation into claims about questionable actions involving young women.

The firm declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We do not comment on internal matters."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold more than 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles combined, including a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
